Miranda (Mandy) has been clogging for 34 years and clogged competitively for 30 years with Southern Junction Cloggers. She has competed in clogging competitions throughout the Southeast, performed in Upstate parades, performances, nursing homes and local festivals. She was also fortunate enough to clog in the 2001 and 2005 Junior Olympics and says her most magical experience was clogging at Disney World, not once, but twice!
Her entire family shares the love of clogging and although her last competition with SJC was in April of 2022, Mandy was not ready to put away her clogging shoes and continued to teach her daughters clogging and stay an active part of the clogging competition community. Mandy says she is "blessed with the opportunity to share her love and passion for clogging with others" In 2024, Mandy decided it was time to back on stage and to share her passion with the next generation and is now the Director of Next Generation Cloggers.
Hi! My name is Alexa Padgett. I started clogging in 1990 with my 2 daughters who were 5 and 6 at the time. We danced with the Dixie Delight Cloggers in Greenwood, SC, for many years, performing at local festivals and events. When this clogging group ended, I joined the Abbeville Cloggers in Abbeville, SC. Recently this group changed its name to the Palmetto Stompers. I currently dance with this group of great ladies. As a middle school teacher for the past 40 years, I have had several clogging teams made up of middle school students at Brewer and Westview Middle Schools here in Greenwood. My husband Chris and I have 4 children, thirteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. I love clogging, especially in competitions. I am so happy to be part of this new group here in Greenwood, the Next Generation Cloggers, and look forward to many awesome performances and competitions!
I started dancing at age 4 but didn’t start clogging until age 10. During this time I competed with Dixie Delight Cloggers. I continued dancing at a local studio throughout high school as well as with the Emerald High School dance team. I joined the Lander University dance company where I received the Carol Neubner dance scholarship and minored in dance. While in college and years after I taught dance (tap, ballet, jazz, character/production) at Dance Fever until 2011. I returned to clogging this year when I joined Next Generation Cloggers.
